16-week Accelerator program for US-based startups innovating in disability, health or aging, offering seed funding, guidance, mentorship, and community feedback.
About This Program
About the Remarkable Accelerator
The Remarkable Accelerator, established in 2016, stands as one of the world's pioneering disability tech accelerators. Since its inception, it has successfully accelerated over 120 companies dedicated to creating technology for disability, aging, and health. The program's core mission is to empower startups that are innovating in these crucial sectors, transforming their impactful ideas into successful, sustainable businesses.
Mission and Values
The Accelerator's mission is deeply rooted in fostering positive social impact through technology. It values growth, community, and tailored support, aiming to boost each startup's trajectory while building strong connections within the disability community, among fellow startups, and with their teams. The program is committed to ensuring every moment is worthwhile, providing personalized support to fit unique needs and fostering an inclusive ecosystem.
Program Structure and Timeline
The Remarkable Accelerator offers a comprehensive 16-week program. It runs two distinct programs annually: the Australia+ Accelerator Program for global startups outside the US, and the US Accelerator Program specifically for US-based startups. While both programs offer the same tailored support, they adjust for different time zones, seed funding details, and face-to-face events. The US program, led by Molly Lazarus, runs from September 8, 2025, to January 8, 2026. Each year, one cohort of startups is accepted into each program, ensuring focused attention and resources.
Mentorship and Network
A key differentiator of the Remarkable Accelerator is its extensive network. Participants gain access to local and global networks spanning disability and startup sectors. The program provides invaluable mentorship in critical strategic areas, including branding, legal, sales, business development, capital raising, and disability sector expertise. Startups also benefit from insights into improving their product's accessibility and opportunities to attend key industry events and build connections at curated gatherings.
Investment Terms
The Accelerator provides significant seed funding to its participants. For the US program, startups receive $50,000 USD as a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity). In addition to direct funding, participants enjoy over $10,000 in perks, including credits and discounts from partners. The program culminates in an in-person pitch event to investors and industry leaders, offering a platform for further capital raising and partnership opportunities.
What Makes it Unique
What truly sets the Remarkable Accelerator apart is its specialized focus on disability, health, and aging tech, combined with a highly personalized approach. Cohorts are kept small to ensure tailored experiences, weekly 1:1 coaching, and bespoke programming. The direct involvement and feedback from the disability community are integral, ensuring solutions are genuinely impactful and user-centric. The commitment to accessibility and inclusive design is woven throughout the program.
