About This Program

Program Overview and Mission

The AI Ventures Accelerator, a collaborative initiative by Technovation and Generation Unlimited, is a free, intensive program designed to empower young women (aged 19-24) to transform their innovative ideas into investor-ready AI-powered businesses. The accelerator's core mission is to address the projected global skills crisis by equipping young women, particularly those in underserved communities, with essential entrepreneurial and technological skills. It also aims to bridge the significant representation gap in AI, where women currently hold only 22% of roles, by fostering a new generation of female AI entrepreneurs. The program champions diversity and inclusion, welcoming participants from UNICEF Program Countries and the US, and emphasizes that no prior coding or AI experience is required, focusing instead on drive, ideas, and a willingness to learn.

Program Structure and Timeline

Spanning 12 intensive weeks from March to June 2026, the AI Ventures Accelerator provides a comprehensive curriculum that covers both technical and business skills crucial for launching and scaling an AI venture. Participants will dedicate 10-15 hours per week to the program. Key learning areas include foundational AI, entrepreneurship, and human-centered design. Teams will learn to utilize Generative AI tools for product development, train machine learning models, curate datasets, and build web or mobile applications that solve real-world problems. The program culminates in August 2026 with funding decisions for the top teams, followed by a Demo Day in October 2026.

Mentorship and Network

A cornerstone of the accelerator is its robust mentorship component. Participants receive strategic guidance from a network of AI professionals, successful entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. Mentors, who have experience building tech companies, raising venture capital, and navigating entrepreneurial challenges, work one-on-one with teams. This expert guidance extends to developing financial acumen, leadership skills, and communication strategies, all vital for crafting an investor-ready business pitch. Beyond mentorship, the program fosters a global network, connecting participants with 1,000 young women entrepreneurs from around the world, creating a supportive and collaborative community.

Investment Terms and Funding Opportunities

The AI Ventures Accelerator is a completely free program, covering all curriculum, mentorship, tools, and resources without any hidden fees. A significant draw is the opportunity for equity-free seed funding. The top 10 teams will collectively receive $100,000 in equity-free seed funding, with each winning team securing $10,000 to launch their venture. This capital is intended to be used for critical startup needs such as hiring developers, acquiring customers, and product development. These top 10 teams will also gain the opportunity to pitch their ideas live at the inaugural Demo Day event. Furthermore, the top 25 teams receive additional post-program incubation support aimed at helping them secure further venture capital, demonstrating a commitment to long-term success.

What Makes It Unique

What sets this accelerator apart is its specific focus on young women aged 19-24, its commitment to equity-free funding, and its emphasis on solving real-world problems through AI. The program's global reach, targeting UNICEF Program Countries and the US, ensures a diverse cohort. The "no prior coding or AI experience required" policy significantly lowers barriers to entry, making it accessible to a broader range of aspiring entrepreneurs. The structured curriculum, combined with one-on-one expert mentorship and a clear path to seed funding and further incubation support, provides a comprehensive launchpad for AI ventures.

Participant Experience

Day-to-day, participants can expect an immersive and hands-on experience. They will be actively engaged in building their AI venture, from conceptualization and problem identification to prototyping and business model development. This involves learning practical skills in GenAI tools, machine learning, and application development. A significant portion of their time will be dedicated to refining their business strategy and pitch, guided by mentors. The program fosters a dynamic learning environment where collaboration with team members and networking with peers and experts are integral to the journey.
