About This Program

History and Founding Story

FedTech and IndusBridge Ventures have proudly partnered to create the India to America (I2A) Launchpad, a premier U.S. market access program. Building on the success of its 2024 pilot program, I2A was established to address the unique challenges faced by Indian dual-use technology startups seeking to enter and expand within the complex U.S. innovation ecosystem. The collaboration leverages FedTech's expertise in deep tech commercialization and market access with IndusBridge Ventures' insights into the Indian startup landscape.

Mission and Values

The core mission of the I2A Launchpad is to equip Indian startups with dual-use technologies—innovations applicable to both commercial and defense sectors—with the education, mentorship, and strategic connections necessary for successful U.S. market entry. The program values strategic exposure, practical education, and personalized mentorship, aiming to bridge the gap between Indian innovation and U.S. market opportunities, particularly within the federal and commercial sectors.

Program Structure and Timeline

The I2A Launchpad is a 10-week program running from August to November. It features a comprehensive structure designed to maximize startup readiness and market access. The program kicks off with an in-person launch event and tailored workshops in India, involving program partners, U.S. Embassy stakeholders, and past alumni. This is followed by biweekly virtual workshops and office hours, forming the core programming. Throughout the program, startups receive ongoing strategic coaching tailored to their specific vertical through weekly 1:1 advisory sessions with sector-specific advisors and program-aligned support teams. A significant highlight is the U.S. Immersion component, where selected companies are invited to participate in an in-person event in the U.S., such as a defense tech conference, providing invaluable direct market exposure. The application deadline for the 2025 cohort is July 18, 2025.

Mentorship and Network

Participants benefit from personalized mentorship provided by U.S.-based experts. These mentors specialize in critical areas such as federal innovation, commercialization strategies, legal structuring, and business development. The program's extensive network facilitates direct engagement with the U.S. Department of Defense, defense primes, and other commercial innovation stakeholders. Startups also gain introductions to investors, research labs, and testing facilities, significantly expanding their strategic connections.

What Makes It Unique

The I2A Launchpad stands out due to its specific focus on Indian dual-use technology startups and its tailored approach to U.S. market entry. It offers hands-on workshops covering crucial topics like U.S. defense contracting, FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR compliance, and federal acquisition strategy—knowledge vital for navigating the U.S. defense sector. The program also provides guidance on establishing a U.S. entity, navigating registrations (NCAGE/SAM.gov), and exploring venture funding, alongside dedicated Demo Day preparation and pitch support for targeted exposure.

What Participants Can Expect Day-to-Day

Startups can expect a dynamic and intensive experience. Days will involve a mix of virtual workshops, one-on-one advisory sessions, and independent work on their U.S. market entry strategies. They will be actively engaging with mentors, refining their business models for the U.S. context, and preparing for investor and stakeholder presentations. The program culminates in potential U.S. immersion opportunities, offering direct interaction with key industry players and government officials.
