About This Program
About the Program
Launch Powered by KPMG is an AI-enabled, next-generation accelerator program created through a strategic partnership between Launch Chapel Hill and KPMG, a global professional services firm. Designed to bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and enterprise readiness, the initiative supports startups operating at the cutting edge of frontier technologies. The program combines Launch Chapel Hill’s startup incubation ecosystem with KPMG’s expansive corporate capabilities, market access, and deep industry knowledge.
Program Structure and Timeline
The accelerator runs as an intensive 6-week program tailored for startups at the MVP stage that are ready to explore pilots with enterprise clients. Throughout the cohort, founders participate in targeted workshops, customer discovery sessions, and hands-on strategy building. The program helps ventures sharpen their value propositions, refine their MVPs based on authentic market insights, navigate enterprise engagement requirements, and build actionable go-to-market strategies tailored to early adopters. The cohort culminates in a signature Demo Day, where founders pitch directly to KPMG leadership, corporate prospects, and prospective investors.
Mentorship, Investment Terms, and Enterprise Access
A core distinguishing element of Launch Powered by KPMG is its equity-free framework. The accelerator does not take any equity stake in participating companies, allowing founders to preserve their cap tables entirely. Thanks to backing from KPMG, the local municipality, and the University of North Carolina network, the program prioritizes genuine startup growth and high-impact enterprise connections over investment returns. The direct objective of the cohort is that at least two participating startups secure tangible next-step pilot commitments from enterprise partners.
Focus on Innovation Frontiers
The accelerator focuses squarely on select enterprise-relevant sectors, known as Innovation Frontiers. Key areas include Artificial General Intelligence & Advanced AI Applications, Physical AI & Industry 4.0, High Performance Computing, Semiconductors & Chips Innovation, Dynamic Energy Management, Supply Chain Resilience, and Biotech & Life Sciences platform technologies. With access to KPMG professionals and seasoned mentors, founders gain unprecedented insight into the security, assurance, and integration standards required to scale within enterprise environments.
