About This Program

About the Program

The Sage Impact Entrepreneurship program, now in its second year, is a multi-year initiative designed to support entrepreneurs who are driving positive environmental, social, and economic impact within their communities. In partnership with Sage Foundation, this program aims to foster a vibrant community of visionary leaders dedicated to systemic change through innovation and collaboration. The 2026 iteration specifically targets early-stage and under-resourced startups based in the US, building on the success of its inaugural year.

Program Structure and Support

The program offers a dual-track approach to maximize support for participating startups. The Annual Core Cohort will select 12-13 US-based startups, providing them with tailored mentoring, access to Sage's product support, grants, and strategic training. This intensive track is designed to accelerate growth and strengthen impact. Concurrently, an Annual Community Cohort will welcome 14-16 US-based startups, offering them access to a curated digital platform, asynchronous tools, and enhanced visibility through Village Capital's website and social channels. All participating startups, regardless of their cohort, will benefit from two years of post-program support, ensuring sustained guidance and resources to help them scale their solutions effectively.

Mission and Problem Statement

The Sage Impact Entrepreneurship program is deeply committed to addressing the most urgent social and environmental challenges of our time. Recognizing that 2024 was the hottest year on record and that global temperatures are projected to rise significantly, the program emphasizes the critical need for frontline solutions. It highlights the dramatic consequences of climate change, particularly for rural and lower-income communities, and underscores the crucial role businesses play in combating climate change and fostering social equity. By collaborating with purpose-led entrepreneurs and investing in innovative solutions, the program seeks to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices, stimulate economic growth, and create jobs within the green economy.

What Participants Can Expect

Participants in the Core Cohort can expect a hands-on, immersive experience with direct mentorship and strategic guidance. The program's focus on tailored support means that each startup's unique needs are considered, helping them refine their business models and impact strategies. Community Cohort members will benefit from a flexible, resource-rich environment, allowing them to leverage digital tools and gain exposure at their own pace. The two years of post-program support for all participants signify a long-term commitment to their success, providing ongoing access to a network and resources crucial for scaling their ventures. The program aims to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and connections needed to drive meaningful and lasting change.
