About the STARTUP Accelerator Showcase 2026

The STARTUP Accelerator Showcase, presented by Innovation Maryland, bwtech@UMBC, FounderTrac™, and Startup Grind Maryland, is a flagship program designed to elevate ambitious Maryland founders and the innovative companies they are building. The program culminates in a high-energy Pitch Showcase, offering a vital platform for participants to present to investors, advisors, and community leaders.

The core mission of the STARTUP Accelerator is to put early-stage Maryland-based founders in the best possible position to achieve significant growth and attract outside capital. The program is built on values of intensive guidance, practical application, and community collaboration, fostering an environment where high-growth mindsets are nurtured and scaled.

Program Structure and Timeline

This intensive 14-week virtual accelerator is meticulously structured to provide comprehensive support. The program officially kicks off on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, and concludes with the Pitch Showcase on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Key components include:

• Formal Sessions: Seven bi-weekly sessions, held every other Wednesday from 5:00–6:30 pm, starting January 28, 2026. These sessions are designed to equip founders with practical tools and expert guidance.

• Mentorship: Each participating founder is paired with an experienced mentor. These mentors provide bi-weekly consultations, helping founders set clear goals, deliverables, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Work Weeks: Between formal sessions, participants engage in dedicated work weeks, focusing on assignments and mentor check-ins to ensure consistent progress and application of learned concepts.

• Pitch Showcase: The program culminates in a live virtual pitch event on May 6, 2026. This showcase provides curated introductions to investors and industry influencers, offering a prime opportunity for exposure and potential funding.

Mentorship and Network

Utilizing the proven FounderTrac™ process, the Accelerator is guided by seasoned industry professionals, mentors, and advisors. These experts provide invaluable insights across the four key pillars of growth: Leadership, Product, Market, and Finance. The program also fosters a strong peer community, allowing founders to collaborate and share experiences with others tackling similar challenges in Maryland's vibrant startup ecosystem. The network extends to sponsors and partners like Arrka Capital, who offer expertise in capital raising, scaling, and exit planning.
