About This Program

History and Mission

Remarkable has been a pioneer in the disability tech space since 2016, accelerating over 120 companies focused on technology for disability, aging, and health. The organization's mission is to foster innovation that directly or indirectly benefits people with disabilities, transforming promising startups into successful, positive-impact businesses. The US Accelerator Program is a testament to this mission, specifically catering to US-based startups.

Program Structure and Timeline

The US Accelerator Program is an intensive 16-week program designed to propel early-stage startups. It runs annually from September 8th to January 8th. The program emphasizes a tailored experience, with small cohorts ensuring personalized attention. Participants engage in weekly 1:1 coaching sessions, bespoke programming, and receive expert advice across various critical business areas. The curriculum is structured to guide startups from their current stage to significant growth and market readiness.

Mentorship and Network

A core strength of the Remarkable Accelerator is its extensive network. Startups benefit from connecting with local and global networks spanning the disability sector, startup ecosystem, and various industries. Mentorship is provided in key strategic areas, including branding, legal, sales, business development, capital raising, and specialized disability sector expertise. The program also facilitates attendance at key industry events and fosters connections through dedicated gatherings, building a strong community among participants, mentors, and people with disabilities.

Investment Terms

For US-based startups, the program offers a significant investment of $50,000 USD via a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity). In addition to direct funding, participants receive over $10,000 in perks, including credits and discounts from Remarkable's partners. The program culminates in an in-person pitch event, providing startups with the opportunity to present their innovations to a curated audience of investors and industry leaders.

What Makes it Unique

Remarkable stands out as one of the world's first disability tech accelerators, bringing nearly a decade of experience to its programs. Its uniqueness lies in its deep focus on disability, health, and aging tech, combined with a commitment to tailoring the experience for each startup. The small cohort size ensures that support is highly individualized, addressing specific needs and goals. Furthermore, the program's emphasis on community feedback from the disability community ensures that solutions are genuinely impactful and user-centric. The dual program structure (US and Australia+) allows for global reach while adapting to regional nuances in funding and events.

What Participants Can Expect Day-to-Day

Participants can expect a dynamic and demanding schedule. Days will involve a mix of structured workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions with startup coaches, and dedicated time for product development and business strategy. There will be regular opportunities for feedback from mentors and the disability community.
